TRAVEL
TRAVEL TO THE UK
AEROPLANE
The main international airports that we recommend are: Heathrow, Gatwick, Bristol or Exeter, as the connections and flight options are better.
The low cost airlines are: EasyJet/ RyanAir / jet2.com /BMI / flybe (Easyjet and RyanAir fly to Bristol, and flybe fly to Exeter)
TRAIN
All the Eurostar trains arrive at London St Pancras International. Connecting trains to Totnes depart from London Paddington.
COACH
EUROLINES offer transport by coach from most European cities. Coaches arrive into London Victoria in most cases.
BOAT/ FERRY
It is possible to take a ferry from Spain and France to the UK. The nearest port to us is Plymouth and you can depart from Santander or Roscoff with P & O Ferries or Brittany-ferries
GETTING TO DEVON
Totnes is located in Devon, in the South West of England, and is 3½ hours away from London by train and 5½ hours by coach.
We recommend that you book your travel tickets in advance, wherever possible, to help reduce costs. Most transport tickets are cheaper if bought in advance in the UK.
TRAIN - £75.00 (single ticket) approximately
The quickest way to travel to the area is by train. There is a direct service from London Paddington to Totnes which takes about 3½ hours. There are also trains available from other destinations in the UK, but this could involve changes.
COACH £35.00 (single) approximately
The best way to travel to Devon is by National Express coach. This is the cheapest and easiest way to travel. There is a direct link from London Heathrow airport.
TAXI £220.00 (single) approximately
Travelling by taxi to the south west is the most expensive form of transport. Please contact the school if you would like a price.
CAR It is possible to use the ferries and bring your car with you. Please ask the school for road directions from your port of arrival.
Totnes European School is happy to assist you with any transport questions. Please e-mail the administration office on:info@totneseuropeanschool.co.uk
